Welcome to Cobham Lacrosse Club

2017-18 League Results - Congratulations, Cobham!

Head Coach Heather Macrae reports on this season's successes for the Cobham U13, U15 and First Teams in the South East Junior and Ladies leagues. Heather is delighted and proud of  the match skills demonstrated by the players.

Heather notes that the Cobham Firsts had some very close games with their league opponents. These include tough cliff-hangers  against Central London (eventual league winners) where the Firsts lost the away game against 9-10 but  (following a change of tactics next match - Coach Heather was on it!) beat them at home 10-9. A truly nail-biting finish! A total of four Firsts games were won/lost by a single goal proving that Cobham Firsts are truly one of the top teams within the league. These results are a testament to the players’ determination and tenacity. Every single player put her heart and soul into each match whether she was ‘on-ball’ or off-ball’ and the team received  external praise for their efforts to re-defend and regain possession following a  turnover in attack. They went on to finish 3rd in Division 1 behind Central London and Hawks Alchemy. A huge well done to all of the team!

The U13s and U15s bagged excellent mid place positions in their respective league. These results were posted despite a couple of U15 and U13 matches being snowed off, and points lost through because of cancellations. Our coaches report that both teams fought hard in their league matches - the spirit of Cobham shining bright! Special mention goes to girls from the U11 and U12 teams who stepped up on a couple of occasions to play for the U13s - well done, girls.

Heather extends her thanks to all of the players, parents, coaches, and volunteers who make the Cobham League matches  possible. In particular, Heather sends her very best  to Heather Jordan, Suzy Charlton, Karen Saraiva and Sam Shaw for managing all the teams with such superb, calm efficiency throughout the year.

It's been a fantastic season!
