As part of our continued focus on providing lacrosse development opportunities to our members, we are very pleased to announce an exciting new initiative with Durham University.
Durham University is one of the top universities for Women's Lacrosse, having recently been awarded 'High Performing University' status by the English Lacrosse Association. Over the summer, we approached them about developing a relationship with us and were delighted to find that they were hugely enthusiastic about the idea.
The first event in the programme will be a GUEST COACHING SESSION run by senior members of the Durham Ladies Lacrosse team, at Cobham on 10th January 2015. Before the training session, the Durham team will make a short presentation about the University and the lacrosse set up, plus run a Q&A session for players and parents.
We are also discussing contributions for our website and taking a tour team up to Durham University later in season.
We believe this relationship can benefit members of all ages. It will provide us with valuable information on the competitive landscape for university lacrosse, insights into life at university more generally and provide our girls with access to excellent sporting role models.
We hope that this sort of initiative will make the girls feel excited about the lacrosse opportunities ahead of them and help to keep them playing the game for many years to come.
