Saturday training takes place at our Covenham Grounds situated behind the Fairmile Inn on Portsmouth Road, Cobham. Minis (U9,U10 and U11), U12 and U13 will train 130-245pm, while U14, U15 and Firsts will train 245-4.00pm.
The U13s and U15s play in the ELA South League. These matches are played on Sundays at home and away at other lacrosse clubs. The matches are organised by team managers and are run very much on a first come basis. We aim to give everyone who wants to play game time.
We also organise friendly fixtures; these may be on a Saturday morning or Sunday. One of our coaches will be available to coach the girls at all matches. See our Sport for All selection policy.
These sessions are for primary school girls (Years 4 - 6) who want to learn lacrosse and have fun. Training is run in small groups and we offer a seamless transition from Mini-Field (non-contact, no checking, no goalies) to Field Lacrosse at the end of Year 6. Gum shields are required. Goggles are recommended, boots sensible in wet weather, and girls will need a stick. We have a small number of sticks available to borrow for newcomers.
Saturday 2:45pm to 4:00pm for U14 and U15 players
These sessions are for senior school girls (Years 7 -10). Like most schools, beginners in Year 7 and above will start in Field Lacrosse. Gum shields and studded boots are required. Goggles are advised. You will need to buy your own stick, although we can provide these initially.
Girls should be brought by parents and carers to the Covenham grounds for Saturday training. Please park in the Rugby Memorial Grounds car parks/Cobham Free School car parks as advised by us in Club Newsletters. Please remember that pick up and drop off is not allowed at the Covenham Grounds. Please click here for our parking map.
We request that girls either wear Cobham kit or neutral training kit (and not school kit) for training sessions. This avoids visual school divisions and helps the girls integrate into the club. The exception to this is when girls come directly to training from a school match, but they should have a neutral training top on for training. Suitable waterproof jackets and warm clothing are required in the winter. All girls should bring a drink with them. For more information see our Kit page.
